Podcast for 05-12-08 | Laaaaadieees?

laaaaadiiiieeeees.jpg

It's ladies night on The Weekly Geek, as Colette and Jinny join the very manly Chris and the always testosterone-heavy Mack in what is possibly the ladiest podcast ever. Is Guitar Hero IV going to rock Rock Band? Is Lost Winds Colette's favorite game evar? (Protip: it is!) Other topics include mini map dependence, Emerald City Comic Con, Crisis Core, and more great TV. Enjoy the brisk flavor of this special podcast... ladies.

John Vanderslice's Online Tour

vander.jpg

Smart Indie Popster John Vanderslice, in support of his amazing new album Emerald City, is pushing a new performance method for some of us more shallow-pocketed concert goers having a hard time deciding which shows we're gonna miss: an online tour.

Vanderslice, with backing band in tow, packed into his recording studio (Tiny Telephone in San Francisco) and taped a live set from which tracks would surface one at a time in different internet locations. I highly recommend the second stop of his online tour over at gorillavsbear.net - there they have "White Dove" - John's latest single and a damn fine rendition of it. Check out the new album on iTunes here - John Vanderslice - Emerald City

(The snapshot of Vanderslice above, another work of the wondrous photographer Autumn de Wilde, whom i spotlighted previously back in June.)
